The ship landed carefully on the surface, the landing gear sinking slightly into the wet muscle beneath it. Or, rather, beside it. Estrian spacecraft were remarkable in their ability to land on any surface, regardless of its orientation to a planet.
The engines settled down; the crew exited, their pressure suits stabilizing them on the sheer pink wall just as their spacecraft was.
"Enormous..." one of them said.
"She's an unusual specimen. Much larger than the rest."
The captain turned to all of them. "Then it'll be easier to explore. Let's get going."
